Special Issue

Journal of Optics
Journal of Optics

Journal of Optics, in parallel to the International Conference on Optical Angular Momentum, will be running a special issue on the subject of Orbital Angular Momentum. Guest Editors for the special issue will be Dr Gabriel Molina-Terriza, ICFO, Barcelona and Professor Miles Padgett, University of Glasgow, Scotland.

Papers submitted to the special issue should contain novel research results of interest to your research community and should be about 4 to 6 pages in length, including space for figures, graphs etc. (figures are equivalent to about 300 words each, 900 words per page).

Review articles will also be considered for the issue. These should be 8 to 15 journal pages in length, and should give an overview of the work done by the various groups within the chosen sub-field. In order to avoid duplication please contact the Publisher, Claire Bedrock (claire.bedrock_AT_iop.org), if you plan to submit a review so that she can liaise with Guest Editors concerning the subject and coverage of any Review articles.

To increase the impact and readership of the issue, all articles will be available free of charge on the journal website for the first 6 months after publication. It will be published as a single issue of the journal and each corresponding author will receive a complimentary copy. We encourage colour figures and multi-media clips for the online version of the special issue, for which there is no charge. All papers submitted to the special issue will be subject to the usual review procedure of the journal.

Any conference attendee giving an oral contribution at the ICOAM meeting would be especially welcome to submit a paper to the special issue. Key researchers not attending the conference will also be invited to contribute to this issue in order that the issue is a comprehensive collection of papers from all of the key research groups in the field.

Please submit your paper or review by email to jopt_AT_iop.org. We ask that you prepare your paper by the submission deadline of 30 September 2010.
